Non discrete flow. . .

Monday, January 2, 2012

So here's an obligatory post of the new year. Nonetheless, I don't really feel anything too special about the new year. I treat time as a continuum, hence the transition of one discrete year to another doesn't really mean too much to me. Probably events like this do not appeal to me because I'm single right now, but still, my 1st of Jan 2012 is of no difference from my 31st December 2011. It's not like just because the number of the year switch, everything will change immediately. Change is gradual, and continuous, hence I don't really see the need for new year's resolutions or anything of that sort. I personally believe that self-improvement should be done regardless of whether we're in the middle of the year or the end of the year. If you realised you've done some terrible things in June, you don't have to wait till next year to atone or change, that doesn't even make sense.

Regardless, as more or less of a social protocol, I wish everyone a Happy New Year. May the new year brings new hopes, new joys and new opportunities in everything you do. As much as I have been blabbering so much like an old man about how I don't "celebrate" new year, we did have quite a feast yesterday.

Since Sean and Yok Yin came back from Hong Kong, we(or rather I) have been craving for some homecooked food. According to Yok Yin, I've been spoilt too much ever since we moved in together, as she has been cooking for us almost every weekend and when she went Hong Kong, it felt like forever since I last have some nice homecooked food, thus I've been bugging her to cook for us =P. Aside from that, we invited Alice, Ming Li and Pei Yee over for a small gathering and one thing leading to another, we ended up with a feast with quite a lot of dishes being cooked by Yok Yin.

So I guess that was more or less about my New Year, or rather, that was more or less about my past few weeks. Oh, actually there's more. As a "reward" for helping Daniel and Bin take care of their rabbits while they were back in Austria,
Daniel bought me some alcohols. I really did not mean for him to buy something for me, but Daniel was stubbornly insisting that he buys me something, and since I really didn't wanna be rude to reject his good intention, I requested for a bottle of Baccardi from Changi(tax free) when he came back to Singapore.
In addition to that, Daniel also bought me this "wine"?. I really don't know what type of alcohol is this, all I know is that it's an apricot flavoured alcohol that is quite strong, about 42% alcohol.

So those were more or less my "Christmas presents"? Many thanks to Daniel for the alcohols.
