Introducing, our new obsession. . .

The Settlers of Catan board game! 'Cause we're so bored working in the lab all the time, we play board games! Pun!! But anyway, the 6 of us from the Statistical and Multiscale Simulations Lab(my previous lab) have recently been playing this game every Wednesday and whichever possible weekends. No, I'm not gonna do a board game review, I'm not THAT bored. Pun again LOL.
But basically, this is a very complex and dynamic game which exercises our minds a lot. You can't play the game alone and expect to win, because it's not possible for you to have all the resources, at the same time, trading with other players will risk them getting what they want and winning the game when they grow faster than you. Hence, it's a game where you have to strategise and trade smart.

And as if the game was not interesting enough, we went ahead and spent some money and bought ALL the available expansion packs for the game. Each expansion actually gives additional features to the game, making it even more dynamic and complex. However, that is not all!! We can combine different expansions, bringing some(not all) features of different expansions into the game, which will give almost endless possibilities of the things we can do in a game.
We love the game so much, we try to play it as much as we can. After all, we spent about SGD300+ in total for the game. Nonetheless, each game takes a very very long time, thus preventing us from playing TOO often also. Therefore, like I said, we play every Wednesday evening, and if possible, the weekends. More interestingly, we've recently shifted from playing in the lab, to playing at Daniel's house, as shown.
Daniel's house(the condo he rented) was really beautiful and comfortable! We enjoyed hanging out there so much that we decided to have our board game evenings at their place in the future.
What's more, Bin is one of the most awesome bakers I know! Second to my mum of course. The previous Wednesday we were there, she made us apple crumble! And it was delicious!! Totally made our board game evening much more yummylicious!!

And with that, I'm off to my miserable life again.

P/S: I'm going home to Ipoh tonight for the weekend, and hopefully it will be an awesome weekend with my bros Juan Mun and Jia Pin.
