Hectic hectic weekend! My family and I drove down to Damansara to visit our relatives. Technically speaking, I went to visit my god-grandmother, along with my god-aunties and god-uncles. Sounds complicated eh? LOL. Anyway, since its quite tedious to be referring them as god-aunties/uncles, I'll just refer to them as my aunts and uncles! Of course, my grandma! Convenience comes first! XD
Here I have the photo with some of them inside. Believe me, this is just a minute fraction of their huge huge family! I took some other shots too actually, but they're not really the best photos I've taken, so they're filtered!! In face this wasn't really that good, but I HAVE to post something right? I guess I need more practice in group shots. Anyone can gimme some heads up?
Oh, this too turned out to be not bad!!
Anyway, this was one of the main highlights of my trip to KL. This is my uncle's shop that sells "Yau Char Kuay" and porridge. I'm not exactly a professional food blogger or whatever, but I don't need a license to tell you that this is a must-go stall whenever you're in Pavillion or Mid Valley/The Gardens. The best "Yau Char Kuay" and porridge I've tasted! The porridge's even better than my mum's!!
"Yau Char Kuay" or whatever you call it in English. This is seriously good stuff. People, if you happen to be in Pavillion or Mid Valley, do give this a taste!
Something similar to "Yau Char Kuay", but its called "Ma Kiok", or directly translating it into English, its called horse leg. I prefer this to the "Yau Char Kuay" but my dad prefers the latter. However, both are great!!
If you think you've tasted countless of these sweet potato balls from pasar malam, you've tasted NOTHING!! This is entirely different! On a whole new level in fact!
A view from the 18th storey apartment, my uncle's place. The circular polariser did its thing!! Look at the purplish cloud at the sides!!My biggest regret throughout the trip was I did not manage to snap the photo of the porridge! Ugh! It's so smooth that it'll slip right into your throat the moment u put it into your mouth! When we went to the stall to check the origin of the "smoothness" of the porridge, we were impressed. There's a worker who would be stirring the porridge 24/7!! Not a second the pot of porridge is left stationary. I'm happy and sad for the worker at the same time. Happy for him cause it's a REALLY easy job, I mean, you don't need a 180 IQ or some special training to stir porridge in a big pot! But sad for him 'cause, his hand will be aching everyday after work! XD
We had "Tang Yuan" at grandma's place today before we came back! Small and sumptuous! Oh, speaking of coming back, this trip was the first trip that I get to drive on highway, on such a long journey somemore!! A new experience for me! However, my leg was aching after each trip to/from KL 'cause my leg had been practically stationary for the whole 2 hour trip. And yes, I'm a new highway driver so it takes me 2 hours plus to reach.
Stopped by one of the stalls for dinner on our way back. Nice claypot chicken rice!

To my despair, BOTH their first comments to me was, "OMG you've grown fatter!". However, Wai Mun, being the more honest one, says that I look better with more flesh compared to the stickman me last time. :P
Wai Mun. Quite a major change since I last saw him.
Pui Yee. No change. Still as talkative and resourceful as usual. News broadcasting is her pride LOL!
Aside from that, I'm making plans for my Canada exchange next sem!! Gotta find backpackers hostel, means of transport to campus etc etc. Tedious tedious!! What a hassle, just let me go already!! XD
